"New Directions" Support Group

New Directions is a support and education group for people with bipolar disorder, depression and their families and friends.
Their mission is to help individuals reach their highest potential; to move beyond their diagnosis to lead meaningful, productive and joyous lives, even if that means changing goals and lifestyles to accommodate the illness. Their highest priority is for their members to participate in society to the fullest:  through work,
volunteerism, involvement in the community and to form loving and lasting relationships. Highly motivated people with a primary diagnosis of a mood disorder (bipolar disorder or depression) who are under the care of a physician for their condition can attend. People with an active substance abuse problem are referred elsewhere, to a “dual diagnosis” group.
The meetings are held on the1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 7:30 PM to 9:45 PM., at

Abington Presbyterian Church, 1082 Old York Road (corner of Susquehanna), Abington, PA. Cost is $3 per meeting per individual; $5 per family. In addition to the two "general meetings" per month, they have 2 daytime meetings a month and social activities. Contact:
